On the 12th of Aug, 2008 i had my naming ceremony called as Namakaranam. Amma and appa were browsing the sites for various names. Atlast they selected this name SAHAS which means brave.
They wanted a simple and unique name. Appa who was in UK when i was born, came to Chennai on the 30th of July....he came directly to see me from the airport.
Lets talk about my naming ceremony now....i was given a fresh bath in the morning...all were getting ready and were waiting for the guests to arrive. I wore a new dress. As soon as the priest came all the homams started and appa was busy chanting the mantras. Then the priest asked amma to bring me to the dias.
As i came appa wrote my name in a plate of rice spread in it and whispered my name slowly inside my ears three times.....sahas..sahas...sahas..ofcourse with my surname Vedam. From then on iam being called as SAHAS VEDAM.
That was a great day as i received a title. Everybody blessed me and gave me presents.....
