Diwali '09

Diwali is festival of lights..........yes thats true.....i celebrated my first diwali in India but was only 2 months old to see the lights....but this year i have grown big....

In UK we are not supposed to burst crackers without permission.....so we decided to attend a Diwali party arranged by one of our friends........

On the day of Diwali i woke up early and wore my new shirt and jeans after taking a fresh Ganga snanam(head bath)....appa said we will be going out for lunch and after performing the pooja we went to Jimmy spice for lunch......

I had some yummy french fries, vadai and masala dosai for lunch.....i had cakes too.....we had a great time together.....then we returned home and took rest as the main function was in the evening....

We all got ready in the evening..i wore my new suit and boots and to the party hall........my god it was full of people and people......

Luckily we met our set of friends in one corner....the party was nice and there was an uncle on the stage singing and playing some good music for the dancers on the floor to dance....

Amma, appa, Kavya akka, Lavanya aunty, Veebha Aunty and all other kids danced....even i tried a bit to dance.....you know iam good at it.....

Then they arranged for some fireworks outside....we were also given one sparkler each....i like sparklers, but got afraid when a big rocket bursted in the sky.....i was too scared of the noise...so amma brought me back in....

Then we had our dinner arranged with Chennai dosa.....the party was still going but we came back home as i felt asleep......you know with a day full of fun and activity...iam a small kid after all.....

My First London trip (10th Oct'09)

The moment i step out of my house its either in the car or on someones shoulders have travelled and not by any other means....but you know i travelled for the first in train (choo...choo) to London.

We planned to take thatha and patti for a visit to the London....as they are very old we covered only 2 places that day.....

As per plan we started by train to London in the morning and reached London at around 10.30A.M and went to the Tower of London by travelling through tube trains...i was a bit scared in the beginning but got used to it soon....

I loved all the Gold and silver things glittering in the jewel house...i also enjoyed watching the Ravens.....The soldiers were marching here and there....The guides were explaining the story of the tower to all the visitors....i understood no bit of that...but enjoyed my day in the sun....

On our way back we watched the Thames river and the London bridge.....i was amazed to see all the big boats on the sea......

From there we went to Madame Tussad's wax museum......i was scared to see the dolls....but was fine when i saw people taking photos alongside it....

Even we took couple of snaps and enjoyed the taxi drive too........

After an exhausting day we returned back to house in the evening by train again......We had lots of fun on the trip.....eagerly waiting for another day out.....

Navrathri - 09

Hey all........longtime......yeah busy with the navrathri......ofcourse mom was busy keeping me away from the dolls....

Navrathri is a 10day festival celebrated by arranging dolls on steps decorated with colour papers and lights...and pooja is performed daily to goddess Lakshmi, Durga and Saraswati.....

Amma arranged the dolls and decorated the place very beautifully with lights and lamps....i liked the star lights...........she used to do pooja and give sundal prasadam to all....hmmm it tastes yummy.....

On one particular day Vedhika akka came to our house with Veebha aunty dressed up like a madisar mami....immediately i was also dressed like a kutti mama.....all enjoyed watching us.....

We invited all friends for the Golu and all visited our house on friday.....they liked the Golu and the snacks made....I wore a pyjama kurta and played with the kids....

On sunday we performed Saraswati pooja and i did pooja too alongwith appa as iam in need of the blessings for my future life.....Amma kept all things and books near the Saraswati photo and also kept my story book.....That day we had invited Sibi mama for lunch..we all had fun....

The last day was Vijayadasmi.....we are supposed to read and start new things on this day..so amma read the story for me and started teaching me parts of my body....i love learning new things.....

All 10 days were great fun and i enjoyed my time watching the glowing serial lights and colourful rangoli......

My first day at Toddler group (15th Sep, 2009)

You know i like to go out...and when it comes to a place like the toddler group, i wont miss it....

Toddler group is a place where all parents bring their kids to play and socialize with other kids...Its conducted in a Pre-school, only on the Tuesdays from 1PM to 2.30PM....Kids of all ages come there.....

I had earlier visited this place on the last day of the last term, but was there only for a short while alongwith Varsha akka and Nithu...

As i have grown big in this 2 months amma decided to take me there regularly....

About my first day.......all in my house were excited as iam going to go to the school (sort of)...Amma dressed me up, gave me lunch and we started off on time......there were not much kids this time but it was fun to see kids of my age playing together with the toys....

Initially i did'nt know what to do there?? but amma told me to play with all the toys available on the floor....there was also a music player playing the rhymes....even my favourite TWINKLE TWINKLE came.....

After sometime Miss Joe and Miss Donna arranged the dinning table with snacks and juice and asked all kids to sit and have some....I had the star biscuits and some orange juice on my own........it was fun to sit with all other kids and eat....

We started to play again and then came the rhyme time.....we all sit in a place took musical instruments in our hands and started to sing all our favourite rhymes......i enjoyed when all song Twinkle and Hickory dickory.....

The fun for the day ended and we all returned to our home.....I can never forget my day and eagerly waiting for the next tuesday......

Midland Safari ( 30th Aug, 2009)

Not only on Saturday even on sunday we wanted to go out...so we decided to visit Midland safari....As usual we all got ready and amma prepared yummy pongal for breakfast and tamarind rice and curd rice for the safari....

I wore my favourite black pant and purple shirt as it was very bright and sunny that day.....we started a bit early as it might take long for us to cover all places....

As soon as we reached the safari we went inside to see the animals first...Iam always made sit in my car seat while travelling in the car, but that day as it was inside the safari and as i have to see clearly amma took me on her lap and we both sat next to appa....

It was fun to see appa drive the car....we saw elephants, white tiger, bengal tiger, different varieties of deer, birds, lion, camel and giraffe too.....

We also tried to feed the ostrich which came near our car....as i was very tired seeing all the animals i slept in the car for sometime....

You know the giraffe was taller than our car...i could'nt see without lifting my head up.....so many animals in one place.......wowwwwwwwwwww

After the safari we had our lunch and went to the leisure park......as i was too small and scared of all things we did'nt go in any of the rides, but i enjoyed my time watching the rides and merry go rounds.....

We had yummy icecreams tooooooooo.........hmmmmm i love it......

I had so much fun with my parents and grand parents that day.........hoping to see many scuh places..........

My first fish visit (29th Aug, 2009)

As it was a long weekend for appa we decided to take thatha and patti for site seeing.....appa after looking into the net chose the NATIONAL SEALIFE CENTER for our day out.......Even Trisa akka, Lavanya aunty and Siva mama occompanied us..........

We all started from home at 11.oo AM on 28th Aug and reached in a short while....after buying the tickets we entered the fish land.......you know there were lots of fish (chish as i say)......

Trisa akka and i enjoyed the day watching all types and sizes of fish and other sea water animals.......

They also showcased a 4D cinema about the sea animals.........with some special effects too........i was scared and appa took me outside...... I also saw a big turtle swimming around the water......wowwwwwwwwwwww it was so big..........

I saw Nemo fish too......it looked very beautiful......i had great fun the whole day.......

Krishna jayanthi

You remember during my 7th month i was dressed like a chinni krishna, but this time i was dressed like krishna on the real janmashtami day......

Amma drew all bindi and designs on my face and platted a kudumi and wore me the panchakacham alongwith jewels.........also the peacock feather......I had my flute too.....

All liked my disguise and cuddled me.......Even Trisa akka disguised like Radha and came to my house in the evening...we both had great fun posing for the camera.....

Amma finished her pooja to Lord Krishna and gave all the sweets and savouries made.....

I had my share too........hmmmm it tasted yummy........

The day was filled with fun and excitement...........i loved it.........

My First birthday

I was born on 23rd of July but as it was a weekday my parents decided to celebrate my birthday on the 25th of July in a function hall......As per their plans they booked Dickens Heath village hall for the party.....

Subbu mama had sent nice invitation cards printed with the party details.....amma and appa distributed the cards to all friends and relatives well in advance.....Food was arranged with Chef Vijay.....the menu goes this way

Starters: Fried idli and aloo tikki

Main Course: Bisibelabath, Cashewnut pulau, Poori and Curd rice

Side dish: Veg. Kurma, Bhagara baingan

Others: Pickle, papad

Dessert: Gulab jamun and vanilla ice cream

Hmmmmm.......mouth watering right???????

The birthday cake was ordered in Jimmy spice.......they make yummy cakes....i loved them...

You know the speciality in our costume????? All three of us were dressed in blue......

Prabhu mama, Sibi mama and Vinod mama decorated the hall with colour papers, balloons and my photos too........The hall looked simply superb........

All guests started to arrive and we started the party by giving all annas and akkas face mask, party poppers, whistles and party hats.......

The cake cutting was started by lighting the musical candle sent by Subbu mama and amma cut the candle with the musical knife....all started to sing the 'happy birthday' song and the hall was filled with excitement.....Kavya akka and Veebha aunty sprayed the party streamer and foam and bursted the poppers.......

Then Siva mama cut the cake into pieces and gave all the guests alongwith chips.......i had my piece too........yummy..........

While the guests were having their dinner, amma and appa started to distribute the return gifts to the kids and to all uncles and aunties..........everybody liked the gifts and the party and wished me luck.....The day was full of fun......

The big task was yet to start......yes the cleaning part........thanks to all uncles and aunties who attended the function and and to all who helped us in all ways.........

My 12th month (23rd Jun - 22nd Jul, 2009)

Just one more month and i will be a big boy........yes i will be completing one year.....amma was busy arranging for my b'day party.....my b'day invitation cards and other decoration items arrived from India.....all thanks to Subbu mama for spending time to buy these stuff..........

Amma and appa had also arranged for my Ayush homam function in the temple on the 14th July being my star birthday........Prabhu mama came home the previous day and we all went to the temple in a big car........you know i wore kurta and pyjama........

I was very tired so slept on our way back home..mama was supposed to return the same day...but he stayed back for another day....yes to play with me............

On the 23rd..........that is on my birthday amma had arranged for a party at home for the very close friends here...mama also arrived the previous day........

I was given a fresh head bath in the morning, then amma gave me my first whole milk......the day was full of fun as all friends and relatives called up to wish me........i enjoyed my time in my new trike presented by prabhu mama........

In the afternoon amma, thatha and prabhu mama decorated the house with colour papers and balloons for the evening party..appa came early that evening and cooked food for the guests....

Everybody came for the party and we all had a great time together............thanks everyone for coming and wishing me......love you all...........

My 11th month (23rd May - 22nd Jun, 2009)

Like any other month this month was also filled with new excitements and expeditions in my life.....I can never forget the time i spend with my dad during my oil massage....thanks dad for the awesome massage you do..........

You know my friend Nithu completed one year during this month and we all celebrated his birthday party and wished him luck.......hmmmmm iam eagerly waiting for my turn........of course the presents.......

On 15th Jun thatha and patti arrived to our house.......they would be staying alongwith us for sometime.........this time its my dad's mom and dad.........hurray they will be here for my birthday.........its always fun to be with people around you.........

You remember i told last month that i was walking holding furnitures......this month i started to walk holding the walker.....hmmm its fun to walk......

My 10th month (23rd Apr - 22nd May, 2009)

I was trying hard to stand my previous month, but during this month i started to stand properly by holding things.....

I also celebrated appa's birthday during this month....amma surprised him with a candle light dinner and gift.....All uncles and aunties came to wish appa....

I also started to walk holding the furniture........but still not confident to walk on my own....

I enjoyed my day out in Bungo farm on 2nd May with Vedhika (Big) akka and Trisa akka....it was fun...Lavanya aunty took me on a big slide....wowwww.....

As Lavanya aunty was leaving to India and would not be able to attend my first birthday party, she gifted me a Choo choo train......i love it....Thank you aunty...i will miss you...

My 9th month (23rd Mar - 22nd Apr, 2009)

I had so many milestones to achieve..........i started on with lifting my head during the 3rd month, trying to turn around.....etc., I almost mastered all these skills and also started to crawl and sit on my own during this month.....It was so good to move around the house. Out of fear amma used to keep all things out of my reach...

I also happened to celebrate my moms birthday during this month...it was fun, all friends visited our house to wish amma.......

I started to enjoy my bedtime story too during this month.....

My 8th month (23rd Feb - 22nd Mar, 2009)

I started on with the solids from my 6th month but this was the month when i started eating rice for the first time.....

Prabhu mama who had come for my mottai function stayed back to attend my anna prasanam too........

As per our custom....mama is supposed to give his niece or nephew the first spoon of rice.....

So on 25th Feb morning mama keeping me on his lap gave yummy carrot payasam made by patti from finger ring and then gave me pappu sadam from a silver spoon......I liked it a lot...........

From then on i officially started eating rice.......

There was a sad moment in this month too..........patti and thatha left for India on 8th Mar.....i miss them a lot.......

My 7th month (23rd Jan - 22nd Feb, 2009)

What a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have many occasions to mention here......to start with, we attended Prabhu mama's convocation function in Cambridge on 24th Jan and celebrated thatha patti's 35th wedding anniversary on 25th Jan.....

Not only that i also had my head shaved(mottai) on the 21st of Feb and celebrated amma appa's 2nd wedding anniversary on 22nd Feb.....

ooooooooohhhhhhhhhh...So many celebrations.........but lets talk about my special day.......

As i was about to lose my hair, amma decided to dress me like chinni krishna and his gopika the day before the mottai function by plating a kudumi on my head....you know i had lots of hair.....

I enjoyed as i love to pose for photo.....

One more thing... also attended my British citizenship ceremony on the 12th of Feb...You know iam a British Citizen now....;)

My 6th month (23rd Dec - 22nd Jan, 2008)

My activities started to increase day by day as i was about to complete my half year........As it was Christmas vacations Prabhu mama visited us and we all enjoyed our time roaming around places and showing patti, thatha the streets of Birmingham.........

I received many gifts from appa's friends and was enjoying my time with them....Prabhu mama also brought many toys for me....

I happened to visit many friends and relatives this month....I was also getting used to the weather and the new place...

I also celebrated my THALA PONGAL during this month....

My 5th month (23rd Nov - 22nd Dec, 2008)

I got my VISA stamped and it was time to say Goodbye to India...Amma made all arrangements for our travel and appa was eagerly waiting for me.......

Me, amma, patti and thatha after leaving back Subbu mama alone in Chennai started to UK....

That was my first ever flight journey....amma was tensed a bit as she had to handle all 3 of us....but the journey went smoothly and i landed on the 24th Nov at 7.45 PM (GMT) in UK...

Appa and Prabhu mama had come to the airport to receive us. Oooooo it was very cold outside......very different from the weather i saw in Chennai.....

Actually amma did'nt inform others there about our arrival and surprised everyone my calling them after landing...

Veebha aunty and Lavanya aunty were thrown in surprise and came immediately to see us.

Had great fun with them and slept nicely with all the days journey.

All friends started to visit our house.....It was fun as all were around me........

I enjoyed my time in Chennai and missed all there too.................

Forgot to inform....fo you remember the skill that i was practising in my 4th month??? I mastered that skill during this month.

My 4th month (23rd Oct - 22nd Nov, 2008)

This was a month of colours and lights.....I say so as i celebrated my THALA DEEPAVALI during this month.....Amma was busy making arrangements for our UK trip.

Subbu mama was all excited as iam there to celebrate diwali. He bought many crackers and new dresses for me. On the day of diwali i wore a jeans and t-shirt and was busy posing for photos. Amma nearly took 100 snaps that day.

After all that posing i was entertained by subbu mama with flower pots and boo chackers....i enjoyed the colours and the light in the dark night.....

I also tried a lot to turn around this month but unfortunately i could'nt master the skill.....but it was fun making amma and others wait....hehehehe
